    dc2r - battery replacement

Anyone else replaced their dc2r battery with a Century NS60LS? Went to Autobarn today to get a replacement for my flat stock one and got back to find the terminals were switched compared to the stock Panasonic.

I can make the negative cable stretch (just), but the positive won't reach. ie:

I've tried rotating the battery so the terminals are at the front, but same issue, negative can reach, positive can't.

I don't want to stretch the positive cable too much and apply too much tension. Has anyone else come across the same issue?

    Cheers

you need the NS60S not the NS60SL!!!!

stupid battery manufacturers are using USA charts for AUDM batteries!!!

I bought a Deka battery last week. Its terminals are the wrong way around also - however because the battery is so much smaller it doesn't matter.

Thanks for the generous offer! but I'll be fine till Tuesday. The reason it went flat was because I hadn't driven it for a month (bought a Euro ).

Get a trickle charger if you dont drive it much, 50 bucks at K Mart, best investment.

you just hook it up to the battery every now and then, and it will fully charge the battery.

I use mine quite a lot, just leave it overnight and it charges it up and your good to go.

mine tells you how charged the battery is too.

It is definitely substantially lighter than a standard battery. By how much exactly I couldn't tell you. I would guess approximately 30-40% less weight than the stock battery from picking the two of them up.

I paid $210 for it from Battery World.

Note in the pics of the two batteries (standard vs. Deka) the height difference of them also - looking at the threaded posts the Deka is about 25mm shorter! hehe

I'd like to know what his reasoning is for stating this, because it sounds like garbage to me.

These batteries can supply larger amounts of current in short transients than a standard battery, I would think they would actually perform better for car audio systems.

                              me @ ozhonda ?

If it was , its to do with these smaller batteries often have less reserve. So you cant sit with the car off pumping music or other accessories as long as a normal battery. Its a normal complaint from many US guys with lighter smaller batteries.
