    Spoon Caliper

Wonding the performance difference from OEM Dc2R calipers to the Spoon calipers.

My under standing is its a direct replacement, fits stock disc. And uses the same brakes pads. Is this true. Also whats better twin or mono.

Is it worth the 2 grand. Or is that better spent on pads and disc.
    Thanks

Well they are true four piston, versus the two piston floating structure or stock brakes, they are lighter also by about 50%.

But your better off buying true mono-block if your going to spend thousands, these caliper's two piece design is not ideal for uniform heating or structural integrity, and the same pad/disc surface area means no real increase in energy absorbing capabilities.

Pads and discs would be a much better investment for value IMO
Honda Nationals, September 9-10, get amongst it!

I thought the twinblock caliper was for DC2R and the monoblock are fitment for dc5/ep3/s2k.

i agree with Louis, pads much better abng for buck!

check my for sale thread bro.. everything to mount onto dc2r. About half the price of new.

It is worth it if you track IMO, reduces weight, 2 pot calipers will reduce your brake fade as the pad is being pushed more evenly and it is easier to change pads as you only have to take two bars off the top and swap out the pads.

1.4k is like well worth it, you probably make that in less than a fortnight...

Lets all be honest! We buy spoon calipers for the branding and looks, not for the performance.

Assuming ur aim is to track the car, with or without new calipers you'll need some decent temp pads first with any setup you decide on otherwise you'll fade regardless.

Spoon calipers would still be an upgrade over stock but for the money, you can find much better aftermarket calipers to do the job
