Rotas have a lot of hate. I have a mate that owns them, and he hasnt had any problems on roads. Idk about using them on track though.

lol the reason why rota gets a lot of hate is because almost all their line-up are copies of well known jdm wheels....

if rota was to design their own wheels and a nice design in that, i wouldn't mind buying and using them on my car

One thing i like about these fake wheels is how much damn concave u can get. especially the XXR range!

if ur budget limits you to ROTA, go for it. Dont sacrifice other things in YOUR life to satisfy OTHERS in this world to show them u got a genuine set of wheels.

Many top time attack cars in Australia use rotas, I've never seen an issue.

oath! DC2R8D had Rota's on and ran HKS hypermax pro II's 15k/10k on sydney's shocking roads constantly crashing and knocking, and they are A-OK.

A track is not going to dish up anything more serious than sydney roads
Honda Nationals, September 9-10, get amongst it!

Do you know which specific model they were?

Possibly just some of the models are more unreliable compared to others?

I've track on rota rims 18x9.5 +22 DPT's on my evo 8, nothing wrong with them. Car weighs 1500kg, so if there ok for an evo should be more then fine for any Honda.

I have nothing against the quality or reliability of Rota wheels, for all we know their quality control and manufacturing standards could be superior to any number of other manufacturers.

The majority of their wheel designs are copies though, and it is hard to believe that this doesn't to some extent discourage innovation in the wheel industry as a whole. Why design and test a new wheel only for another manufacturer to replicate the design and potentially steal sales. Some of the best looking and most functional wheels for car enthusiasts have come out of Rays, SSR, Work, BBS, and I will always support those companies so they have a chance to produce more of these great designs in the future. If you buy a Rota wheel sure you are getting a functional wheel, but you are effectively encouraging plagiarism, and as someone with an interest in good original design that doesn't sit well with me. If the mentioned companies go bankrupt (as SSR did a number of years ago) who will design Rota wheels then?

Some people buy genuine wheels when a replica is available for reasons other than peer pressure. Some people could not care less what other people think of their wheels.
