    Confirmed..... it's a counterfeit. I have PM'd Lemmiwinks

UPDATE: The seller unknowingly sold the counterfeit Kpro to me. He was not under the impression that it was counterfeit and as a good valued clubITR member, he is doing the right thing to rectify the problem. Thus far I'm happy with this users reaction to the problem and his response and actions about this problem only concrete the fact that he is a valued CITR member.

Did the tuner lock the calibration so you can't download it to a computer? If you can't do that then I'd do some logging and try to replicate the problem.
      Thanks for the reply.

Now his car is also having cold start issues.. He needs to contact his tuner asap! (keeps putting it off for some reason)

i wouldnt rave about haltech either tbh, mate just got his haltech retuned and gained 10kw because of some firmware issues. Takles longer to tune as well and no immoboliser function so there are pros and cons for each option

The ECU I sold you is NOT the one that I discovered I had a counterfeit KPRO in.

As you recall, when you came and purchased it off me, I needed funds to pay for my new clutch install. At a later date, I purchased another KPRO which I discovered the counterfeit KPRO in. I did NOT know that the KPRO I sold you was a counterfeit. I have PM'ed you who that one was purchased from.

            Please read this thread: http://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtop...13264&start=30

There is a photo of the current ECU I have. The photo of the ECU I sold you, isn't the ECU that I discovered counterfeit KPRO's in. Just compare the differences between your photo and the one that I had posted on Hondata. If I knew that the ECU I sold you was a counterfeit, why would I post a thread WARNING others about counterfeits.

It would be plain stupid to knowingly sell a counterfeit / fake to a fellow clubITR member! It's a very small community and we're all apart of the same club!

I've PM'ed you in regards to who that ECU was purchased from. And I'm more than willing to help you get that sorted. But I don't appreciate you posting on these forums, telling everyone I sold you a counterfeit kpro.

Thanks for the response Lemmiwinks, as you can understand I was a bit shook up. I understand you did the right thing.

I didn't tell everyone you sold me the counterfeit Kpro, I asked a question as to whether it was the same Kpro. I apologize if I've been misleading and my previous posts have been altered to concrete this fact.

For those people who have counterfeit Kpros, and for those of us who have spent the money to get a tune performed, do you guys with sufficient tuning knowledge think that those calibrations will be able to be uploaded relatively problem free onto a genuine Kpro, or do you think that it will require a whole new tune all together.

The .kal file is independent and unaffected by the ECU (except in the case where you download it from the ECU but Hondata recommend against this to avoid problems/corruption) so as long as your tuner still has your calibration file saved on a PC somewhere they should be able to upload it to a new Kpro without any issue.

I'd still get them to run the car up on a dyno though to check that the old counterfeit ECU wasn't doing anything funky that might necessitate fine tuning with a genuine Kpro.

I wonder if there's any data or people with experiences who know whether or not a counterfeit kpro improperly displays data. My tuned counterfeit Kpro was flickering CELs every drive, so it leads me to believe the whole .kal could be incorrect on a genuine Kpro.

I'd load the map, and get it put onto the dyno. If not, load the map and datalog a few drives with different amounts of throttle inputs. Then upload the datalog onto a forum and see what other's have to say about the logs.

Appreciate you clearing everything up Ben.
