Also.. One thing tinkerbell. Was just looking at K&Ns page.. They say we need the HP-1004 not the HP-1010.. Is there a reason for the difference??

i get them from the US, for about $13ea...

Is there a reason for the difference??
the 1010 is for K20A etc, it is thinner and provides better oil pressure than the old fat style...

LOL well my understanding is that all honda's run the same oil filter. But if this is the case why do they suggest differ filter for differ models... If i recall right your running a vtir.. So id take it that there fine on the B18.. Also what site you get them from.. I rang Repco.. $30 for the filter plus $10 as they will need to order in.. And ebay from Uk is $15.36 Au..

Incorrect. Bseries and Kseries have different filters. The thread is that same the screws them in(Some other car manufacturers have different thread size on different engines) but the dimensions of the actual filter is different.

The B series filter is shorter and wider diameter and the K series is longer but smaller diameter. I believe even Ichishima-san from spoon said in the Best Motoring DVD to use the k series filter on the B engine to get better oil pressure.

I've always used just normal Honda filters, i've tracked my car many times and had no problems. I have noticed recently the blue colour they use on the filters has changed and they they are now made in Thailand not Japan.

Green Hamp filters are now discontinued, only some places will stock them till they are sold out.

Blue Hamp filters are the new released filters, 2 times the price and still does the same thing.

Regarding your and tinker's posts, I have always wondered how a smaller filter gives more oil pressure? A larger filter media as in the old B series filters and the PCX filter that is still made for the S2000 should, all else being equal, give a lower pressure drop over the filter media. I'm sure either is fine, and I have always used the smaller filter, but I am just curious.

That is a poor generalisation, S600s don't run the same oil filter .

Personally I don't know. I only have a water temp and oil temp gauge so I can't personally talk about pressure. I have only gone off what I have read/heard.
