    looks like a ITR gear knob to me.

      at our latest track day last thu the john bowe instructors stopped us all just before we were all going to go out to the track...

      "oh and before we head out, whose car is this?" <points to silver supra>
      "mine" comes the reply
      "we just saw a possum come running out of your exhaust"

              It is the inner steel woven lining of the flex joint. Normally this should never happen. I think the installer muffed and damaged the flex unit internally when welding it in place. The work was real rough.
