Tends to slow down your Honda

The day before I went racing in my JDM DC5R last September at Queensland Raceway, I had a new flex joint fitted to the Toda header. As soon as I hit the track, I realised the car wasn't going as good as it should. It felt rather rich which was verified by the data log from my KPro. After alot of retuning between each race, I got the car to start running reasonably. It felt like the exhaust system was clogged somewhere.

Today, I finally got around putting the car on a hoist and taking off the exhaust system. I could see more of the flex joint than was obviously healthy. It's always good to find something obviously wrong. See picture below.

      3)シフトダウンしなから、
        アクセルをぶかす
      4)クラッチをつなぐ

so.. wat exactly was in there?

was it the new flex joint that caused the problem?
