if you got pics, post them up...
i've had a pretty bad accident in my dc5 too and it cost $27k to repair...insurance job tho...and after it was fixed it was awsome..everything brand new
the car drives like before and maybe even better because of the new parts (ie engine mounts)
alternatively, i'm offering $13k starting bid on the wreck.
what I can suggest....get a quote and pay for the insurance...place a claim...tell them you just got an accident.....try to contact the other party...ge them to help you with the date of accident....then get everything back on track...if the chasis is ok.....get it fix and time for some sexy bodykits.....hope everything goes fine....if you need a hand...let us know....I am in melbourne as well....cheers...
Anyway... if the repairs are of good quality using new OEM parts (and the chassis isn't significantly bent) then you should be fine.
The smash repairer I use said to me once before that in many cases they acheive chassis alignment measurements closer to perfect spec than the factory did.

and for the thread started, check out the chassis and get a jdm half cut then sell what ever u can to recover some cost. later on, turn it into a track car. meanwhile, join the groupbuy for oil coolers. Get it cheap while u can.
