where is your car now mate?? if at a smash repairs place, have a yarn to them and see if they'll let you slip in on the weekend and swap all or some of your parts out before the assessor gets a look at it, thats what a mate of mine did when he rolled his modded wrx, believe it or not the local cops actually told him to do it, oh and if you think there gunna right it off, undo the seats while your there and then comeback over night, jump the fence and take them to

Okay my friend recently wrote off his car (cause some noob in a peugoet hit him).
He was with AAMI, and they said under their policy the car cannot be taken from AAMI car depot. And only items that do not require the car to be jacked or raised can be taken out, its to do with their OHS policy.
He could only take his HID kit and INJEN. Headers, sway, coilover and stuff could not be taken. He got his rims but they were reluctant to allow it, because it involved jacking the car.

人生で初めて走る楽しさを教えてくれた「インテグラ TYPE R」・・・初めて走った時は何もかも衝撃的でした。今でも走る楽しさは変わらないですが。。。残念です。今 まで本当に感動をありがとう!

Are you sure it's hydro lock? failure from hydrolock can be pretty spectacular, when your piston's can't compress and it bends the conrods and stuff you'd definately know about it. u may have just gotten water in your electrics that stopped you from turning it over...
does aami know about all your mods? if you haven't told them about the intake and the find out they may void your insurance and refuse to pay you out or fix it.

AAMI only knows about the rims and bodykit...which they have agreed i can take off if i supply stock ones
the intake thing is worrying me although...the mechanic isnt being helpful at all, havent even come close to having the opportunity to do a intake swap

yeah..electrics were fine i think because an hour or so after the flooding when i was waiting for the towtruck the sound system seemed fine.

Just tow your car elsewhere that u can speak to and pay that mechanic the previous tow fee..- Project R -

just a quick update...
turns out it wasnt such a disaster after all
just interior damage and the ECU was fried like an egg...whats being replaced is the ECU, front seatbelt units (buckle+pretensioner), airbag control module, front and rear carpet underlay and boot carpet.
ran compression tests and engine is 100%.
so its just being re-fitted basically
it was due for today, friday 26th but its running late and rescheduled for wednesday.
cant wait for missed it!!

Just picked it up and got home...
few faults:
- Automactic feature on drive side window isnt working
- Centre console seems to be badly fitted it wobbles a bit and the sliding tray doesnt do that clicky thing once its fully open
- Idling weird, at 2 revs+ even when tempreture is up
- Idling revs drop and rise from 1-3 at times, especially when at the traffic lights in neutral behind a cop (Idling issue sprung up after I hit vtec for the first time after roughly 1hr of driving)
- imprints in the passenger side seat looks like someone left a few tools sitting there on the leather for awhile
- Resprayed front bar has a scrape on it already (not from me)
- Front red Honda badge missing they lost it and ordering a new one
- Fuel light on, I remember filling it to a full tank roughly 20kms before it was flooded
- And finally it was over a month late (Due 5th march, ready to drive away without a front badge today 15th April)
That sums up my complaints/bitching about my experience with AAMI lol. Taking the car back there now to sort out the idling issue
