      Yes, admitted to doing 30 over (100 in a 70), not 55 over (125 in a 70) as the cop has booked him with.

      There is a major difference in the offence, a 30km/h over is not a "major speed offence" like a 45km/h over - the fine is also substantially different, as is the licence suspension period.

      If you can afford to challenge it, do so. In many cases the police are wrong. It is your right to be able to contest the fine in court. Was it a HWP car that booked you? Does he have video evidence? Your solicitor can view the ICV footage from the HWP car and sometimes this will be shown to be in your favour. Were you travelling toward or away from the HWP car? Was he stationary or mobile? All of these factors are important.

          interesting, its definitely better to challenge if you are certain that the radar reading was incorrect.

          But has anyone tried to talk their way down to a lower speeding bracket and worked? eg. from 10-19 to 1-9 over the limit.
