KU36 is semislick. so is around level of RE 01 but not as good as bridgestone. I know a guy using RE001 before and he give me pretty negative review on RE001.
both the KU36 and the RE01R are not semi slick, they are street tyres.
A semi slick is more like the RE55s
yup, i agree with Didz, and I have done my research, and I'm getting a set of RE001 on the weekend. The wear of the KU36 put me off them. I know the RE001 are not going to be grippy like a semi slick, or the KU36 but i don't expect them to be. I've never used a set of semis anyway, so i wouldn't know what it feels like.
Got an awesome price on re001. My expectations of these are to be around what I've used in the past, which i will compare to Toyo T1R, Yokohama AVS Sport and the stock Bridgestone RE050, (other tyres i've used are not worth the mention in comparison to these)
Hmm i might go with RE001 also. There priced @ 215 fitted and balance. KU36 are atm in the size i need are $170 with fittted and balance so it'll be about $190 each fitted and balance.

thanks Clasonic! that's the perfect post i was looking for..but anyway, i have a set of re001 on my car right now...and loving it!!
215/45R17 for $230 each
For a track/street tyre i would rate the KU36 over the RE001. That being said i havent used the RE001 on track before and i am basing this off the fact that the ku36 is in a category shared by the RE01R and AD07.
