i found v-power to have a problem with my car atm. Everytime i use it my fuel economy is like 11-12 ltr per 100km. I've switched to Vortex98 and been getting 8-9ltrs per 100km now

I found Mobil Synergy 8000 the best for my car.
i've used about 5-6 full tanks of it and i average around 500km per tank with normal driving and the occasional spirited drives....
      very happy with it.

one of these days i will try get an "economical" tank out of it.. one day

I haven't replaced my sensor yet but its on my list of things to do in the immediate future.

A faulty o2 sensor will generally trigger a check engine light but there are also instances where a faulty o2 sensor will not trigger any warnings.

Try and get a friend to drive behind you and see whether they notice excessive black smoke coming out of your exhaust whilst on the throttle. This can be a sign that your running rich and something along the line is not right.

ChargeR always told me that my car was shooting out excessive amounts of black smoke before my o2 sensor decided to die.

another way to know that your car is running rich is that your car runs differently. when you are stopping, the engine usually is closed to a stall, which means the rpm goes down below the normal idle rpm.

you should be getting around 450km.

i suaully get around 450-500 per tank, and thats with caltex ULP. DC5 Lux as well, but manual/

Just watch how you are driving, make sure you got no uneccesary weight in the boot, and dont open your windows on the freeways..you create drag. Use your aircon at speeds over 80kmph. Under 80kph, open windows

hhmmm i must admit my cars idle drops low every now and then (more when i sit in traffic for ages moving slowly) and can often splutter if i put my foot down at low revs (over 3k it seems ok)... maybe i should do a data log on the way home tonight...

Thanks for the input guys , seeing that everyone is getting at least 450Km out a tank, there is definite something not right with my car...

As I said, it has been running low for sometime now, almost a year, I've tried different fuels (VPower, Ultimate, Vortex) all seems to get similar results. Driving like a granny with all windows up and no aircon didn't help either

Speaking of idle, the rpm does seems to be a bit low, but again I never know what the normal idle rpm anyway (900rpm?). There is no engine light or black smoke, but i can feel throttle lag when i put my foot down at low rev.

I'm seriously consider to get my car health checked, where do you guys recommend to go?

Yes, I would say the car has problem with either the sensors or some sort. I had problem with knock sensor as well as o2 sensors at different times. They give this kinda behaviour. Knock sensor does not give engine light warning at times. I checked with Honda Dealers in Melbourne and Adelaide, they always blame it to mods. They are just too lazy to do it.

Just datalog it first and see what they find before you retune it.

Normal idle rpm is 800 and above I would say (remind me if i am wrong). But if your car is not stock as a rock, then bringing it to Honda would not be good, because they will just blame it to your mods. I ended up bringing it to electricians/mechanics that have the datalog computer as well. They did it well for me without blaming anything.

                            good luck

Yeah i logged the car last night, nothing seemed to jump out at me, A/F was around 14/1 between 25/50% throttle and around 13/1 at full load.. sits at about 12 when idling? is this sound right? (please forgive my noobness i dont know much about tuning cars)

I was thinking i might get it run up on the dyno and get someone to check out the log for some advice..

Your light load and WOT sounds fine. But 12:1 when idling is quite high. Mine will spike to something very lean when idle (17:1? I can't remember).
