DC5R shifter bushings are already aluminium - no need to change
DC5R cable shifter bushings - need to get the correct sizing. I think the one that they sell from strutking is for RSX and Civic Si.

Matt and I have tried to install the cable shifter bushings on our DC5R, but we managed to change only a pair. The other pair cant be installed due to different sizing. hald notchy and half perfect. LOL

2 4 6 and R, Matt confirm if I am right or not.

It is pretty weird how people have notchy feeling on 2nd gear. I have mine on 1st gear instead of 2nd :S

            um... mines first gear aswell!!
but lately.. both gear and R is bad
is this down to wear and tear?
or something else is actually causing the problems?

My car has to be fully stop before I can put into R.
I don't know if it is due to wear and tear though. Coz when I took out the cable bushings, they are still in very good condition though.

I have to say it wont completely fix the problem, but it does help. Especially in 2nd gear, it goes in alot better.
It take about 30 mins, and its cheap. Something I would say is worth it. Makes me wonder why Honda didnt just make them metal in the first place really.
Thanks for the input tk38. As mentioned before it is also wise to install the cable bushings. Together they will give you a smoother shift feel.

If someone can measure the larger cable bushing for kabe then he will be able to make them up for us.

I think they are not much larger, it is slightly larger than the smaller pair. I will measure it when I dig in it again sometime next week

Hey Rudi, on most if not all you will definitely need to come to a standstill to put it in reverse. This is down to the fact that reverse doesnt have any synchros at all.
If you try you will get a grinding sound that hurts. (probably more you then the car haha)
Are the cable bushings hard to install?

                        Clubrsx to be safe.

tk38- cable bushings are easy to install. Hardest part is taking the center console apart.

Why do you need to take the center console apart?
I thought cable bushings were under the bonnet?

my bad, read what you wrote wrong. Cable bushings are easy to install, but that's because I have a injen so didn't need to take anything out to get to the bushings
