    EP3 K20 vs JDM DC5 K20

    anyone can tell me is there a different in engine number ? like is there a way to tell just by reading the engine code?

    and why the power different, what is different internally?
    19,000 rpm still going

      I believe they are both K20A
      the difference in power is in tuning and exhaust manifold?

        it is bolt-ons that are responsible for power difference?

          yeah thats what i wanted to know. internally its the same? IM is different ? whats the IM serial on the EP k20?

          and how can you spot one just by reading the engine number or you cant?

            yeah...the difference is just the EM.......internal is same...just the ecu tuning is a bit different...they was like try to get both the same out put but it will be stupid to do that....since civic is a lower model compare to Integra in Jap market......so they just make a doggy move by reduce the power output of the EP3 so the figure on black and white looks better....but the test they do on BM is the car is doing identical time on circuit anyway.....but both bar have different character and behave differently anywayz...All these info base one BM that I watched...

              JDM EP3 K20A should still have PRC intake manifold

              UKDM EP3 get gipped though, K20Z1, PRB, no recaros, no LSD, 197bhp

                so the JDM EP3, do they run the K20A2? or is it running the K20A like JDM DC5R?

                          DC5R is 162kw and EP3 is 158 kw..

                            so i guess like what eddy and others have said, EM and tune. engine same, IM same.

                            What about serial number, same coding on the engine number? as in is there a number stated one is for ep3 one is for dc5, or honda just shared the engine between the two since its all the same

                              the TypeS K20Z1 is 154kw...
                              anyone know if it's related in anyway to the JDM EP3?
