You mean we don't get to sit in the media room where there's free catering @ EC to interview him?

Well in that case...mmm who wants to volunteer?

Obviously you will have to speak good english and also wear the CITR shirt as you're representing our community as a whole.

Anyway, I don't see what so exciting about this...Its not like any of us would benefit much.

My question to Mr spoon would be:
"How will the tie up make this hobby (racing) more affordable to the normal weekend track warrior who have no sponsorship? - What will the local track community have to benefit from this relationship that we don't already have with the existing tuning houses?"

the Boss of Spoon Japan comming to EC is not necessarily exciting for us (weekend racers),

it is exciting for the seeco / proconcept garage and "improved production" racing in Australia...

seeco/proconcept are currently develop NA hondas' to their highest potential - like no-one else is currently doing in AUDM...

(IMO - i dont know of any "existing tuning house" in australia doing what proconcept are doing)

it is like asking what does V8 supercars mean for average Joe and his Commodore, or what does Honda racing in F1 mean to Honda technology?

the relationship with Spoon can only improve the ability of proconcept to improve their race teams cars...

the 'trickle down' effect is hopefully what will benefit us - the unsponsored weekend racers ...

anyways, that is how i see it...

But I don't know much about proconcept/spoon/hondas in general =P

Thats my point, there is hardly any impact to the amateur community.
This tie up and him coming down is just publicity and to generate business.

The Proconcept cars are already quick as it is, and if anyone has the money
to spend, they can already get Proconcept to build the car, regardless
of the tie up with Spoon.

What will it do for IPRA? as far as I see, it would make the event ultra competitive and drive up the cost such as the unsponsored IPRA racer will
have no chance of being competitive.

Hence, if anyone's going to ask questions, don't ask silly things or apple polish, ask difficult questions to improve the sport.

As for anyworkshop making engines like proconcept, I believe there are some with the ability to do so, they just are not because the costs are exorbidant and most of the weekend warriors would baulk. In fact, there are one or two in AU who are already building 12 second NA B series engine. But the cost, the cost.

please post your valid posts in a different thread. KTHXBYE

Not everyone has to ask the questions you would like to ask. Hence the purpose of this thread. How about you submit some questions?

Not everything has to improve world peace/amature track. Just becuase it doesn't benifit some doenst mean it wont benifit others.

Fuck it im going to go as far as saying this is a meeting for fanboys. I hope this is ok with you?

What are you so ruffled about? If you don't like what I said, you don't have to reply.

I'm not being negative...I'm speaking my mind on what I see is the reality of its impact to the general weekend motorsport community.

Infact, I'm actually very happy for Proconcept to have landed this deal. I think its great.

I've always thought the Proconcept cars were fantastic and hold great admiration for what they've developed.

As for the drivers, I've saved their youtube vids just to study their lines...I mean a 1:48 at EC...its like WTF!!!

However, what would be great is that as a result of this partnership, the enthusiast is able to get access to Spoon components more affordably.
