For the last few days, i have tried to virtually start driving slowly after 30 secs of starting up the car. But i have to say, whenever i do that....the whole driving trip is shit. Kinda like my car knows that i didn't warm up her properly and showing me bad temper by running crap.
Therefore, my conclusion is....even though the theory's sound, but i will still stick with my old method. For all ralliart colt owners & lovers, i'm please to announce that the ralliart colt forum is finally online and working. Please come and support the site. http://www.rcolt.com

What you are experiencing is most likely normal if you were "warming up" the car significantly idling before. But the main point is that this takes longer and is worse for your engine than light driving....
So personally I'd prefer to drive my car normally even if it is slightly less smooth initially due to being still cold.

My trip to work is around 20 mins. I think it might also be my bonnet vent on the ralliart colt that even slows the warming up time.....either way, i'm waiting for spring session to drop by and i will have a sweet ride regardless of how much idle warming
Hence, i correct my previous statement. Its only applicable in dead cold weather

I would think ultimately it is much the same. You want to bring the engine up to operating temperature reasonably quickly to bring the clearances to their intended spec... I wouldn't think that piston slap due to cold clearances would be great for your motor.Originally posted by STOCK View PostDoes the situation change if you have forged pistons with larger piston to wall clearances?
