EP3 beating FN2 in straight line...
I am not surprised. Weight has increased since last EP3, but with even less power, what can u expect??? I wonder why UK Honda is so foolish in making a car that has not improved but instead gone backwards???
Have a look at the JDM FD2 CTR and I bet Honda.co (Jap) are laughing their heads off if they sat in the UK one

The poster says stock vs stock, except the EP3 has an invidia exhaust, which I dont think will give you a car length or two... and the video you posted is a Honda Promo for the FN2, so I dont trust it.

      power to weight
      UK EP3 - 8.16 kg/kW
      UK FN2 - 8.9 kg/Kw

Seems like a lot of extra weight for gearing to make up for.

So it's not the Type R most of us dream of. But then again, it'll probably sell very well for Honda Aus. At the end of the day, that is what matters to Honda. Enthusiasts who crave a raw, edgy, stripped out car are such a small minority.

Not to mention that these days, safety regulations play a large part in car design requirements.

Then again having said all this, the JDM FD2 CTR definitely appeals to me. Shame we'll never see them released by Honda Aust.

in Honda speak - apparently there is no such thing as a "four door hatch"

Honda only has "3 door", "4 door" and "5 door"...

word is they ARE bringing in the "4 door" Type R...

This overgrown egg CTR is starting to grow on me. It's the first time I've seen this kit, that front looks mean:

Is it a matter of performance or aestrics for those of you who don't really like it? If the new FN2 had the same kind of performance as the last EP3 or slightly better, would people be more receptive to it or are the negative comments based primarily on aesthetics?

I personally didn't like the look of the FN2 when I first saw it at the Melbourne Motor Show but its slowly growing on me (...just like when the first DC5R came out) and I think I like the shape after actually seeing it on the road.
