    QED = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q.E.D.

but more commonly, it is used to say "quite easily done"

and CBC would have a list of OEM x-ref numbers... and most probably sells the same OEM bearings, is yours an NTN bearing?

the logo is on the bearing itself.

old thread but its the right place for this stuff...

seems to me my left front bearing is screwed.. its been making noise when i turn left (esp when going hard into corners) for a while now but this morning it was particularly bad. Even making noise going practically straight.

does this sound like a screwed bearing? am i on the right track with this you think?

sounded so bad i decided i didnt want to put my car through this today so took it straight home and took dads car.. ?

yeah - wheel bearing... drive on it carefully - to a mechanics!

and it is ANOTHER left hand side one... (adds to my LHS theory)

                      what LHS theory?

should i get them to do the rhs while i am at it? its about 220 per side i think

my theory is that LHS WB goes first on powerful DC2's

but yeah - get both done at the same time...

check to see if there any red dust under your centre caps? this is a sign of bad bearings too...

and IMO $220 a side is criminal, but if you don't have 500 bucks worth of tools - you cant DIY...

bearings dont wear out on their own though do they? wouldnt the wear be from a worn out CV boot .. so that needs replacing too generally?

wheel bearing has nothing to do with the CV joint or its boot.

and YES bearing wear out by themselves...

wear out faster if they encounter potholes etc (i.e. why the LHS gets worn out first) or are overstressed by wrong offset wheels...

i thought the wheel bearing was inside the cv joint boot? (confused?)

or have i worn a cv joint and not a bearing? (i thought they were the same thing)

Adelaide roads suck ass as the man holes are on the road and not on the footpath

mm.. ok, after doing some reading seems the CV joint is inside the CV boot.. and the wheel bearing is something different..

so i'm not sure which of mine is busted, maybe both.. ?
