Looking at detailing my current ride before I sell it. Any recommendations in Sydney?

Any good or bad experiences?

Ballpark figure?

Is it worth doing or should I just NXT it (again)? my car is silver so swirls etc don't really show, paint is in pretty good nick but it's never been detailed in its 6yrs/109,000km of existence so it could probably be shinier!

we just got my mothers crv done. it was an good job considering it was 100$ for interior exterior and engine bay. could have been better but it was cheap enough. if you where to go to meguiars and buy the products yourself it wouldnt be worth it unless you do it regularly.

yeah, i'd like to know whats the best to get your paintjob looking its best (for those who bought the car 2nd hand and not sure what its been in).

I would say do it yourself...but im a stickler for doing it myself!

Try a good wash with a good car wash (maybe meguiars soft gel?) then buy some zymol polish...it may be expensive but it gives the best shine for weeks on end!

I hardly do stuff myself and I can honestly say that waxing the car was something that I didn't really want to do but I did anyways...made the car look SO good!

So I recommend that you DIY, just pop into your local automotive store (Repco, Super Cheap, Autobarn) and pick up some detailing products.

There is a guy on detailparadise selling a used buffer from the US with transformer for $200.00 It's the one that all the pro's use.

I have one at home just can't remember the name or the brand (brain fart).

Don't get one of those random orbital buffers, chances are you will do more damage than good to the paint with them. Spend the extra and get a random orbital specifically designed for polishing.

Ahh now i remember its the porter cable PC7424. You can get it from the states shipped to Aus for about 350. A transformer will be about 100 bucks. So 450 all up. It's worth it if you details ay 3 times.

And yes a 6.5" pad is ideal unless u need to do serious paint correction in which case a 4" pad is better.

It's better off ordering pads from the US, get your microfiber towels in bulk from K Mart, and Get your detailing supplies from waxit.com.au, thats the most cost effective method. I highly reccomend Poorboy's, very good bang for your buck. Meguires is ordinary in my opinion.

Like any hobby its got a bit of a an expensive start up cost, but its worth it.
