just a warning that a rotary is not the best tool for beginners to use. You can very easily burn the paint if you don't do your research

You'd be depressed to drive it and get a tiny bit of dirt and dust on it!

When you have Paul Dalton as a friend and when he charges somewhere in the zone of $9000+ for a detail, you expect it to be over the top don't you think?

Here's another detail by Paul, but this time the price is justified.

The most expensive is not always the best, but the best is always expensive.

            Love his work..

I don't mind DIY but the idea of being a n00b and polishing paint off doesn't appeal to me. Don't have a spare bonnet to work with unfortunately..

pick a panel up from a smash repairs. you can normally find smashed ones sitting outside and practice on that.

If you use a random orbital polisher it's pretty hard to actually screw up if you do a bit of research.

Using a Rotary is a whole different story though.

I encourage those who want to try it out to start on a random orbital polisher, the rewards are really worthwhile.

I have done alot of research and asked a friend that used to work at a detailing place. He says that the Orbital won't remove swirls.

I understand that the Orbital will remove light-moderate swirls, but a rotary is needed to get rid of a majority of swirls is that correct?

random orbitals will get rid of light swirls but deeper scratchs/swirls will require a rotary.

For best results use rotary buffer but if you're afraid you'll damage the paint you'll still get good results with a random orbital.

95% of the swirls on my black car came out with a random orbital, so i think there good enough.

Is it hard to stuff up your paint from using a random orbital?

yeah if you use the machine carefully, read up on how to use it before hand then there is a very slim chance of actually ruining the paint.

Just start off slow and work your way up. The slower the speed you use to begin with the better, just take your time with it. As you get more experienced you can move to higher speeds.

I just reccomend anyone doing details to tape up all the plastic trim so you don't get polish on it, it's very hard to get off once you get it on.
