lol jeff i've pressed every button and the only one that works is the eject one

its in some sort of coma and refusing to wake up!

i have a feeling the security and illumination lights are separate coz wen i pulled the fuse out and turned on the headlights it still illuminated (jsut the red ones not the screen)

i doubt honda would replace it under warranty as i have a sound system installed...

i really have no idea how the start button caused all this. maybe i should have disconnected the battery?

who installed the start button for you?

maybe the person installed removed battery adn when they plugged it back they keyed in the wrong key 3 times?

that shouldnt matter. all it does if u do that is turn itself off. if u do that 10times then the headunit will switch off for an hour.

i just have no idea how the wiring for the ignition would affect the cd player

what sound system do you have installed? honda should give you warrenty as long as you didn't cut or tap any wires to the radio wiring harness

Sounds like you are getting power to the cd player but to get it to run you need constant power and ignition power maybe only your constant power is hooked up?? just check your wiring again

Might also see if there is a fuse on the back of the headunit?

easy way to find out is if you know anyone that has a working Type S cd player and is willing to switch with you.

If it turns out its the player, and the other car has no electrical mods and its still under warranty, they can claim it from honda for you

But do they keep a record of the stereo serial vs VIN?

umm i cant remember exactly how the wiring was done as doran did it for me...

since im using the stock head unit there was a converter somewhere to wire up the amp which powers the jl splits and sub...

the harness for the radio is diff to the ignition harness right?

i think my sound system and start button would count as mods...

they wouldnt even look at my car before without charging me when the only thing i had was a spoon front strut bar

came across this while looking through some DIYs

                              http://www.clubrsx.com/instructions/...000starter.pdf

its for a s2000 starter but basics should be the same.

ok if doran did it for you, they would've tapped onto the wires, so warrenty will be a problem, cos they can always just blame it on the wiring
