    HELP!!! CD Player died ><

well i recently installed a starter button on my car and it works fine.

however, something must have happened coz the CD player subsequently died.

    ive done the following:

    1. rewired everything back to before (removed start button)
    2. checked the fuse (it's fine)
    3. disconnected battery (and reconnected)

    dunno wat else to do??

any help is appreciated ( i miss my music)

    thanks

Grab a test light they are cheap as chips and answer a lot of questions or you can get a multimetre for ~$30 answers even more questions

Check if you have power to your cd player if not work back until you do..

Sorry its for a base dc5 but it may help cos the wire colours should be the same. If you havent already take you CD player out it will be HEAPS easier check out the sticky in 'technical' for instructions.

where did you ground ur clutch connector to when u're connecting ur starter button? i had a JDM starter button installed on my car and i didnt have a problem with my cd player. Could it be the location where u ground ur clutch connector causing the problem?

also if u have got a cd player, why dont try to check if ur cd player is short-circuit?

i grounded the clutch wire on the metal tube that goes across behind the dash coz it already had a hole there where i could screw in a bolt...

              the start button works fine...

how do i check if the cd player is "short-circuit"?

i havent taken it out yet

did you key in your security pass code into your stock cd player?
everytime you disconnect the battery you will need to re-enter this code.

the code should be on a card found in your service book/manual/folder thingo

yeah thats the thing, the whole unit is blank, even the clock is gone and its not asking me to key in the 5 digit passcode =(

however the red security light on the unit still flashes and when i turn on the headlights it still illuminates around the buttons

the only button that works is the eject button lol

btw this is the stock 6 stack headunit on the type-s

yeah that's the way it should look...
i also have the stock headunit still on my TypeS
that flashing red light means it's security locked...it's not dead

in the user manual there's a bit that tells you how to input this code.
i can't remember what button you have to push or hold down to access the code entering interface.

hrmmm are u sure? coz last time it actually asked for the code...

i've pressed all the buttons and they dont seem to work, i'll try holding them down lol

also, i only disconnected the battery AFTER i realised the headunit was dead, hoping it would prompt me to enter the code
