Blue slip defect notice- melb

Hi guys, it's my first time getting a defect notice from a hwy patrol, I got the blue slip on the spot which he also gave me his copy of the notice and a infringement notice(fine), do I just pay the fine and fix my defect and is that all no need to get it inspected?

i know for a fact down in victoria that you would need to go get the defect cleared after paying the fine. usually gotta take it to vic roads to clear it
