    Camber Arms Review Thread

    G'day,

I noticed that the forum is lacking a camber arms thread and decided that it would a be a valuable resource for myself and others since their are so many products out there to choose from.

A few camber threads exist but most are convoluted with definitions and theory of what camber actually means, so i plead we keep this templated, on topic and most importantly, as a valuable purchasing guide.

I am personally looking for a front pair for my DC2.

So please, if you have some, take 5 minutes to share this with everyone:

    Brand of CA (R), Alignment:

Brand of CA (R), Alignment: Buddyclub, -2.5

        Here you are boss.

        Car: DC5R
        Usage: Track and street
Brand of CA (F), Alignment: DC5s don't need those silly upper control arms at the front.
Brand of CA (R), Alignment: Hardrace
        Bushing type (F/R): Spherical
        Length of installation: 1 year
        Advantages: Cheap. Hasn't broken yet.
Problems: The coatings on the lock nuts and the arms themselves are low budget, and they are rusting a fair amount after a fairly short time. I am also a little wary of how well the spherical will last.

Also they have no bracket for the ABS sensor line, so I had to cable tie the line on. To be fair most aftermarket camber arms do not have a bracket for this purpose, except for Ingalls. If I have problems with these I will probably just get an Ingalls set and perhaps get some sleeves made to fit sphericals to them.

Boom ^. Great stuff, was looking at the Hard race spherical from CA's. even though yours are rear (DC5- macpherson) I like the beefy adjustment screws, tubular design and price. But as you said the coatings and nuts are low rent.

I wanted J's racing spherical but they are a, gulp, 500 dollar investment.

I installed a set of the Hardrace upper arms in a friend's DC2 a couple of years ago and the fitment was pretty good, and the beefy bolts that hold the adjustment were a good feature, easy to do up tight so the adjustment doesn't slip. The only disadvantage was that they are very bulk so you will lose some suspension travel if you are low, because they will bottom out on the suspension tower.

That makes sense. I guess it's a small price to pay for strength and durability.

                cheers

                      Usage: Street/Track
Brand of CA (F), Alignment: Ingalls camber bolts + Tein pillow mounts
Brand of CA (R), Alignment: Skunk2 arms
                      Bushing type (F/R): no idea
                      Length of installation: 2yrs+
Advantages: ermm a bolts a bolt and an arms an arm lol
                      Problems: none
notes: only run one bolt on the front to be on the safer side..have managed to get decent camber settings front and rear using these

i cant recall my front brand, but they are two settings, but i only run them at max camber.

which is about -3.5 degrees, suits my use, which is hard track racing and hillclimbs...

they are about 5 years + old, so i guess they are good, but still dont recall what brand... bought of dc2rrr if that helps....

ah - they are apparently JIC brand!

running cusco rear arms at around -3 degrees,,,

doubt you can buy either anymore, so this is useless post
