Bought through this guy as well. Shocking customer service. Called him to let him know I was on the way to pick up kit from him and when I got there I still needed to wait 20 minutes for him while he wasn't answering his phone or the door. Goes by the name Max Vision or something.

I don't think even JDM HID headlights would be legal (not ADR approved, I think?) AFAIK, the ADR standards for HID headlights also include having headlight washers and auto-levelling.

But JDM headlights or properly retrofitted HID housings would be the safest bet to not get defected even though they're not legal. Unless you get something like 8000k, then it's kinda obvious ... or if the cop really knows his shit lol

+1. All (or maybe just pre-FL?) EP3s get their HIDs ripped out when going through compliance as they have no auto-levelling and washers.

            i was thinking mayeb these?
            http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/H4-HID-Hi...item43aa2277be

there a little bit pricey but ive noticed with all the others that they dont do both high/low beam like these ones and all others are only 35w ballists and these are like 55w which can only be more lighting output.
still undecided on what im going to do.
cant you just get like the h4 halogens that put out shitloads more light?
that dont need the balists and all the rest?

Not exactly sure what that ebay hid kit is on about because ... if you wanted hid high beams, you would put the bulbs into the high-beam headlight reflector. That kit only comes with two hid globes, one for the left side low-beam headlight reflector and one for the right side low-beam headlight reflector. None for the high-beams.

So if you wanted hid high beams, you would need another separate kit to put into the high-beam reflectors ... which would be a bit pointless because 1) aftermarket hid kits always take some time to warm up to achieve full brightness 2) in any situation where you want to use high-beams, you would want the light to instantly shine up the dark spots ... whereas buying a separate kit for high beams would mean you would need to warm up the high beams before actually using them lol

Halogen lighting doesn't need ballasts like hids do. You can get Philips Power2Night bulbs which do put out a fair bit more light ... and they're legal, unlike putting hids into our car. However, they put out a yellow colour. Philips Crystal Vision bulbs put out a nice white light, but I don't know if the light output is better than the average halogen bulb.

You can get super cheap hid kits from china and stuff, but I wouldn't really trust them ....

In response to Crystal Vision bulbs.. I found them to fare worse than my stock original halogen lights. And now that the Crystal Vision LHS bulb has blown, I think I'm just gonna revert back... unless............. should i get HIDs steve? haha

true stuff. Could either be super baller like me and do the retrofit or get jdm headlights

Or just whack a hid kit in it ... dunno how bad the glare is though. I hear our headlight reflectors aren't very good lol

Retrofit projectors, or buy JDM HID lights, or leave it alone. Glare for oncoming drivers is f**king annoying so just don't do it.

He means actually getting projectors (such as this: http://www.retrosolutionsllc.com/ser...Bixenon/Detail) custom-fitted into the housings of your headlights and putting the right HID kid into it.

If you do it yourself, it's quite tricky and time-consuming. If you get someone else to do it, it's rather expensive. But apart from JDM headlights, it's the best option for performance and safety.

Retrofit projectors from Retrosolutions are awesome if you have the skill to diy, they are very popular over on CRSX. Personally i rock the Digital Slim HID 55w 6k kit from retrosolutions and it is an acceptable compromise with regard to HID in a reflector housing. The cutoff is quite good due to the high quality of these HID's with minimal spraying of light, Todd from restrosolutions is also a champ to deal with, he even ordered a set of foglights from CRSX for me to send with the goods i bought from him

                          In order of sensibility:

                          1. OEM HID headlights
                          2. Retrofit Projectors
                          3. Digital brand HID kit (retrosolutions)

I had a browse at my work and I can order in Philips HID kit's hb3 or hb4 kits for just under $300 (public price). I thought that was quite decent considering its a good brand no?
