A lil off topic, can anyone in Melbourne suggest a place that does this, and has done this in the past with good experiences?

Nah I got mine done in Tassie . I know there was a thread about this in the technical section, someone from there must have got it done in Melbourne eventually, maybe bump that thread back up.

Hey Plaything, same thing happened to me yesterday at Honda, they couldn't set the immobilizer and my laptop wouldn't hook up to the ECU. They didn't charge me a dime, I was scared they would after reading this thread but looks like you just got a super shit Honda dealer. They may have offered to reset your immobilizer when you go back, but still, it's a win win for them, they get the cash if you do it or don't.
