wow... didnt know ARP head studs came with allen key tops... always thought u had to use 2 nuts to tigthen it down..

and geeze the piston cutting you did for clearence looks clean..

btw if u dont mind me asking : didn't u get a 3 angle valve job before it was assembled the first time? why is it apart for another one?

yes, castrol syntrax - stinks my whole garage out!!!!

yes, that is the new range of ARP stuff... you should NOT torque them to the block with any force! the hex socket is for assisting removal only...

yes, even i was impressed when i did a close inspection of the valve relief cut!!!

yes, i DID get a "valve seat job" done by a shop that "never seen one of these VTEC heads before" so it really is my fault that it was not done properly! FYI - the valve to seat area is one area of a Honda that is easy to screw up. very easy. and is responsible for my engine being about 10% down on top-end power

probably the only thing i didnt do myself on the B20VTEC, and it was the only thing that is wrong!

BTW - that engine has done 20'000km as a B20VTEC, nice eh?

and that is about 5 track days!

Whats the go with the markings in the bores? Like, the shinier "rubbed" looking markings in 2 & 3 ?

Cool, just looked like odd wear markings or something. I guess it's just the photo.
