What you plan to get next johnno....?

Vin.....rear pads are not that important.......my IDI rear pads already last me 8+ trackdays plus 2 years street driving.....still have 2/3 left........
No, the rear pads of an s2k is much more important then rear pads of our DC5s, as with our cars we do more than 80% of braking with our front brakes where as an s2k is nearly 50/50.

As you say he is in an S2k which has a significantly more rearward weight balance compared to a DC5. The rear brakes will do proportionally more work. I am also not sure what significance this has to his front rotors cracking.

I have done 12 track days on one set of rear pads .
Not sure how valid my theory is but I was tossing up that if Johno has a significantly more agressive pad in the front compared to the rear, the car is then forced to do more braking with the front as the rear is not pulling its weight?

Or it can also be said as the front is over working due to its more agressive pads and taking on more of the burden of braking where as compared to another s2k with identical pads front and rear, the burden would be shared more equally. Just my 2cents.

I'm you would probally get a more accurate answer if you searched s2ki though.

I'm aware of why the rotors are cracking, but if the rotors can't handle the heat in the first place then things like this are bound to happen. I'm not complaining, just trying to find something more durable...it's not like I can go out and do 2 or 3 cool down laps, I always leave the car in gear etc etc etc.

I'm using Pmu HC+ F and R...the rears barely wore at all...

Well my main reason for sale is because the track/mod bug has bitten me hard and as a uni student I am pouring all my money into keeping my car in perfect condition to handle track work etc. I've done 118,000kms now and still on my original clutch with no gearbox/diff rebuilds etc.

I'm thinking about getting a mk 5 R32 golf, maybe 1 year old at most with low kms and I'll just drive that and track it every so often...I think that once I'm working I will buy another s2k and try to crack 1:40 N/A, but at the moment I just don't earn enough cash to support that dream atm

I doubt the rear brakes on the s2k are doing 50% of the braking, regardless of where the weight is the front brakes always work harder, the rear discs aren't even ventilated on the s2k.

Yup. Positive camber is like a nasty STD, the ladies will stay well clear.

Sometimes you're better off with the STD. At least they don't find that out till you get home.
