Hey all,
I thought, given recent events, i will make a blog of my awesome street spec car.
I bought my car in march 2007, it was a glorious day. It was stock as a rock except it had a Mugen Twin-loop muffler!
Here is what the beast looked like when i bought it!
After hearing all this hype about Vtec, i was a little unimpressed by the supposed "baaaaaaarrrr" sound it makes.
I thought to myself, vtec doesnt really sound all that different, just louder a little.
So i researched a little and decided to try the Hondata Airbox Mod!
Off i went, dismantling and gutting out the airbox.
Once it was all done, i put it all back together and took it for a spin!
*Bubowww*
No different, i was pretty annoyed that i spent like 3 hours getting this mod done.
I researched and decided to bite the bullet and buy a proper intake system.
Enter, Injen CAI!
So i got this second hand without the extra washer bottle, it didnt seem like an issue at the time. But it would prove to be annoying.
So i went to work on my bumper trying to figure out how to take it off. After abot 2 hours, i got it off and went to work installing this beast of a pipe (yes its just a pipe, 500 bucks retail for a damn pipe).
Once it was all installed, i took it for a spin. Driving around my neighbourhood, i noticed it sounded the same as stock. My initial thoughts were "Oh, not again..."
I got out on the mainroad and let it rip.
Oh my god, it is damn loud. Needless to say, i was impressed!!!
November 28th 2008 My first trackday!
So i went along to winton raceway for my first ever track day!
My first session out i managed a 1:57, i was fairly impressed and everyone gave me loads of support!
It wasnt until the end of the day where i had my first pb... 1:51.28
I was so excited because it was quicker than mugenman and also charger on their first track day. It was destined to be an awesomely fast car on street tyres, on stock suspension.
Next Mod!
So i went hunting for my next mod. After deciding that coilovers were very expensive, i came across a set of R32 GTR wheels. After learning that they were a 16x8 +30 fitment, i was sold. The fact that they had RE-01R's on them was just icing on the cake!
SO my mexican wheel fitment started.
I was impressed, it looked both cool and it handled better, this was a win-win.
Next mod,
Operation Camberrrrrrr
I aquired some camber bolts, this was in hope of reaching -2 deg camber.
After getting fitted and aligned with the help of Charger, my beast was rocking camber capable of attracting the local girls outside of Dakoda
-1.7 at front and -.8 at rear.
Oh and my fitment,
Enter, Trackday 2!
So i went along with Kam, Charger, Temp and a few others to the test n tune winton open day.
New setup is awesome, but i need to get the tyre pressures correct. I never got a decent time until my last session!
NEW PB: 1:49.11
I was stoked
here is a spastic porsche which owned everyone on the day
Enter trackday 3!
So, i went along to this EXE-Circuit Club track day!
It was really good and awesome (for most of it anyway) and PBs were getting smashed all day!
First session out, 1:48.27!!! HOly shit!!! Crazy!
Car felt solid and really good.
a few sessions later i managed an awesome feat...
1:47.000 on street tyres with stock suspension!
It was win on all levels.
I wont be tracking my car for quite a while now (if at all) It needs some major work as most of u will know.
But yeah, thats my story, thanks for reading and all the help along the way guys.
Has been an awesome journey so far.
