    47RAK's (Daniel's) Blog

Well since it seems that all the cool kids are starting up blogs I thought it might be my time to share my cars history with clubitr community. I dont really expect everyone to read this as I have been told on numerous occassions by ChargeR it goes DC5R > DC2R but i hope you guys enjoy it anyway

    Before 47RAK

At the tender young age of about 19 I had finally saved up enough coin to start looking for my first DC2R. I had fallen in love with this car since the age of around 17 just after i got over the whole fast and the furious and wanting to buy a Supra because of the BOV (you know you wanted one too)

Whilst looking at carsales about 50 times a day to see if anyone had posted up a CW DC2R (My color of choice) I happened to look out the window and see a mint looking CW DC2R on my next door neighbours driveway. Needless to say I went to investigate asap and found out that it was the neighbours son's car. After much discussion and negotiations I found myself driving the car back to my house the week after. I was over the moon and happier than ever. It had low km's, no dents and was the latest of the DC2R's an 01 model. It was relatively stock apart from the tein super street coilovers that it was rocking though that was enough for me at that point.

So after that I started to work more and save up some more coin so that I could start modifying my car like i wanted to. Here is what I got up to.

    Modifications included -

    Exhaust
    - Maximworks Headers (4-2-1)
    - Reinhard Full Exhaust 2.5 + Hi Flow Cat

    Intake
    - Injen Cold Air Intake

    Brakes
    - Spoon Twin Block Calipers (Endless Pads Front & Rear)
    - DBA Slotted Discs
    - Earl's Braided Lines

    Suspension
    - Tein Type RA Suspension
    - Spoon Front Strut
    - Carbing C-Pillar
    - Type R Optional Rear Strut

    Electronics
    - Raiden Voltage Stablilizer

    Just For Looks
    - Rays Blue Extended Wheel Nuts
    - 8000k HID's
    - and Stickers of Course

Well after a year of owning the car I was getting into some pretty silly and stupid activities that I now regret doing. Long story short i lost my old type r in an incident that im not going to get into. Those who know me know what happened.

    47RAK After The Incident

I was pretty down for a while and after having to be taxi'd around for around 5 months I started thinking about buying another car. I still loved the DC2R which is why I guess I started looking for another one. Alot of people ask me why the same car same colour......Its because I didnt get the chance to finish what I started. So after looking on carsales for a while again I found another DC2R. It was CW and 01 model and looked nearly identical to my old car. I was in love again.

    47RAK at Home

After finally purchasing my new DC2R it would find its new home in my garage for the remainder of my suspension. I cant describe how hard it was not to be able to take my newly aquired DC2R out but I struggled and fought with myself and when the day finally came it was worth the wait.

    Modifying 47RAK
I managed to salvage my Injen Intake, Maximworks Headers and some other parts here and there. Here are some short summaries of why I bought the mods that I have to date.

    Modifications included -

    Exhaust
    - Maximworks Headers (4-2-1)
    - Reinhard Full Exhaust 2.5 + Hi Flow Cat

    Intake
    - Injen Cold Air Intake

    Suspension
    - Zeal Super Function Suspension
    - Type R Front Strut
    - Carbing C-Pillar
    - TDM X Bar

    Electronics
    - Spoon Spark Leads

    Interior
    - Bride Zeta II Type-L (Driver side)

    Wheels
    - Bronze Rays RE30's (16" x 7 w/ +42 offset)

    Just For Looks
    - Project Kics Neo Chro Wheel Nuts
    - 8000k HID's
    - New Plates

    Injen Cai:
Probably one of the best bang for buck intakes on the market. I couldnt justify spending nearly $1000 on a Mugen intake so I went for the next best thing which had been widely praised by many people on honda-tech, ozhonda and clubITR. Not to mention it sounds hella good. All directions pointed to Yes!

    Maximworks 4-2-1 Headers:

I did alot of research on headers because I knew the norm was to go the Toda route although I wanted to see what else was available and what might actually perform better even if it was a little more expensive. After many talks with Centrax Auto I decided to go the Maximworks route after being shown proven results and listening to other people's opinions i ordered the Maximworks headers and have never looked back.

    Zeal Super Functions:
I had already gone the Tein RA route and was already used to high spring rates so I said why not and went one better to the Zeals. They have a 14kg Front spring rate and a 10kg Rear spring rate. All I can say about these coilovers are they are absolutely amazing. Absorb bumps very nicely yet stiff enough to handle track duties.

    Rays RE30's:
Well what can I say about these. I fell in love with them when they first came out and not many ITR owners are rocking them. Who can say no to forged yumminess

    47RAK to Date

So far im very happy with my new DC2R rides like a dream and I can truly say ive modified it the way that I want to. Here are some photos of my current DC2R aka 47RAK.

Guys just so you know....this crash happened around a year ago. I am fine and yes I know very stupid to be going this fast after light rain.

              Insurance did cover this.

                guys & girls!!!

lets not focus on the acco - that is a MINOR part to the story.

anymore acco posts will be deleted by me.

this is a blog (and a well written one at that!) about 47RAK - not a crash.

                  How is the seat man?

The coilovers are Zeal Function X yeah?

new one is looking nice. good that you obviously learnt from your mistakes and turned over a new leaf. Sometimes you do need to learn the hard way.

Good to see you moving on. Any future plans on track/modifications?

Bride Zeta II - Type L
If you want a seat that holds you in firmly than the fixed back Zeta II is a winner. Im very happy with the way it constructed and since i got the Type L its a lot better for people that are 6feet and above like me.
Only thing about this seat that i have a problem with is that the finish is not as good as i would have liked it to be. Some of the stitching could be better and seems to crease and wear quite easilly. That being said though a seat is a wear and tear item and as long as its doing its job of holding me in the right position so that i can focus on foot work then im happy.

                          Ps. Ricky

Coilovers Are Zeal Super Functions Spec A im pretty sure they are different to the Function X.

Mugsee - Yeah i actually purchased a hondata S300 but was sold a dud from a member on this board. I didnt really want to get into it but he obviously knew that it was fuxored before he sold it to me because its a wiring/ soldering problem. Wont hold voltage and even wants to shut down the car whenever I unplug or plug in the USB. And its not because of the tune because my tuner and I tried with another S300 and it didnt miss a beat. But yeah PM me for details of this guy.

sorry tinks but i think discussing the acci is partly relevant as it was included in the blog

i think the car didnt look that bad after the accident. They really must be well made

I love the parts. (Pity about the intake :P)
You do rate the maximworks header hey.. that's what i am keen on.. and i have heard great things about Zeal too!
The Carbing C pillar brace.. you reckon that would get in the way of rear passengers?

Yeah maximworks are like the mona lisa of headers i think. beautiful welds and strong. Apparently they help to make some of the manifolds for the GT cars in Japan. Whether its true or not i dunno.

And no the C pillar doesnt get in the way it sits way behind the passengers. id say thats the thing that saved my life.
