Yeah still doing well even back in the motherland. I will definitely let you know if that time comes around .

    New Rotors

I changed to a new set of front rotors today after I cracked both fronts at Symmons Plains a fortnight ago. The rotors I was using were DBA Street Series slotted and I had used 2 sets of Project Mu Level Max 700 pads and one set of Level Max 500 on them. The rotors had worn extremely well in my opinion with a minimal lip on the outer edge and no noticable grooves, so I ordered another set but un-slotted this time. I will report back if I notice any difference between the slotted and blank rotors but I don't expect to. Here is what the old rotors looked like after 8 or 9 track days of abuse and plenty or street kilometers, no pics of the new ones:

And here is where the problem lay :

Just gone from the slotted DBA 4000 to street unslotted and in my last track day I didn't feel any difference. But kind of hard to tell as I am now using a different pad.

If there is any diff I would expect it to be in terms of longevity.

Going from slotted to unslotted didn't make much diff in terms of braking feel or fade but again bit hard to say as my last track day it was raining and also very cold.

How much did you end up picking up the blank streets for Tom? haha

What are you laughing at? I paid 180 each, not too far off the group buy price. How did you rate the wear of your previous DBA4000s?

Nope never tried them. I am too poverty stricken.

That is great wear Tinker, both on the pads and rotors. Do you have dedicated track pads and rotors and swap to something else for the street?

What other car was I looking at? .

All is quiet on the DC5R front.

I have acquired a few small parts that are fairly uncommon in Australia, some of which have been fitted, but I am awaiting a chance to track test their effects before I post regarding them. The next stage of the cars life should look something like this hopefully:
                        • Rebuild dampers and make some significant alignment changes.
                        • Fit remaining secret parts.
                        • Fix ghetto flared front guards.
                        • Head to a few tracks that I have been neglecting, namely Wakefield and Eastern Creek.
                        • Maybe a few new wheels.
                        • ???
                        • Profit.

To keep it mildly interesting here are a few pics of the car from previous events thanks to Matt Mead, now in large size. Check out his Flickr here: LINKY.
