Installed these 'new and improved' taillight gaskets from 'Murica the other day, they're a bit thicker than OEM gasket's and have perfect fit and finish. However, I'm currently getting heavy rain all weekend and I noticed that my boot had once again become a chlidrens swimming pool.

When the rain stops I'm going to tear my boot apart and locate the source of the leak and fix it with some sealant.

      Check the boot seal itself

Turns out my taililght lenses have unsealed and are filling up with water, then leaking into the boot.

Nice DC2R Louis! Plenty of cooling/reliability modifications you have there. Are the B18's known to run that hot?

Honestly not sure as this is my first Honda. Oil temps average 150-180F though

Does your oil temp gauge display in Fahrenheit?

It does, its exactly the same as this:

I'd love to replace them eventually with some better looking, Japanese ones.

                      Update time!

Went to GCSSB (Gold Coast Suspension, Steering & Brakes) on Ferry Road to get a $28 lookover the underside of my car. Ripoff artists indeed! $2500 to replace bushes, a wheel bearing and fit new front tires... Yeah right!

So after getting my $28 shopping list from them I've sought out to complete the mods as much as I can by myself. Ordering the things in order of importance, I set out to get some new front tyres as soon as possible.

Brand new 205/50/15 Federal RS-RR's were fitted for $300 (quoted $390 by GCSSB) at Aus Tyre 'N Wheel.

Also got a new battery (Yuasa NS60SL) as my check engine light came on translating to ABS code 61 - Ignition voltage. Got my old battery tested, it needed to be replaced ASAP.
New battery feels great, starts with confidence every time

Took a trip up to the new house in Mount Tamborine too, my car felt so out of place haha.

As simple as it may be to some, to me I'm excited for the weekend!
With having no recent service history other than the previous owner telling me that it's had a major 200km service (yet to verify), I'm looking forward to starting my service history with my car.

I inspected the spark plugs a week ago and they all look near new.

                          Fresh MTF is best.

Can't say I have any experience with it, I think my car has Penrite gearbox oil in it currently as it sucks shifting cold.

The Genuine Honda is pretty good.

                              Which penrite are you using?

They don't have one that is the same viscosity as the Honda mtf.

I use the genuine in my integra but progear 70w-75 in my other car. It improved the cold shifting compared to the higher viscosity liquimoly used before. That's worth a try if cold shifting is still hard.
