Car looks awesome with the Voltex diffuser. Great selection of modifications. I was thinking of getting the diff mounts but never really considered the sway bar or the LSD. Is that a 1.5way LSD?

Looking forward to how you go with these upgrades at your next track day.

        Thanks mate,
I chose to do the sway bar to find the happy median between the big stock bar and not having one at all, because as you would know i removed the sway bar last track day to eliminate oversteer but it made the front feel a little dead, so hopefully this will be an even balance. At a fast sweeping corner track like sydney motorsport park i think the OEM one will be more efficient. Yes It's a carbon 1.5 way LSD

        Thanks Shakeel,

Overall the day was good and well organised, they didn't pack the groups out so there was plenty of room once i was put into the right group, i would go again and would recommend it to others

Does the ats LSD not require a break in period if you're doing a trackday in a weeks time?

              Btw the diffuser looks great!!!

BYP had this LSD in their s2k for a couple months until i offered to buy it, so no need for break in

Ahhh so you bought their old one. Works out well for you then. Can just jump straight into the track days! I'm thinking ats in the future when I go to an aftermarket LSD so it'll be nice to hear how you find it performs

Wakefield track day number 3 for my s2000 wasn't the best one, but still had a ball.

It was a private track day and we were told there would be natsoft timing but when we got there we got news that the natsoft operator was not going to be there for whatever reason, so without natsoft timing i was relying on my iPhone gps timing app.
1st session out, it was overcast weather so the track was cold so i was out to get a feel for the car with the new diff and sway bar, immediately i felt more confident going through corners but as the tyres heated up it got a little sketchy and started to get loose, i was doing consistent 1:12's according to my app in that first session, for the first session of the day i was happy with that. Back to the pits i made some damper adjustments, checked the tyre pressures and they were at 42psi hot so i dropped them to 36.

Next session out, a few laps in...snap goes my s90 throttle return spring while going around fish hook on a flying lap. So with the throttle stuck at 1/4 i drove into the pits, shut it off and got fixing. Basically the hook that wraps around this stop screw snapped, so i took the butterfly actuator wheel off, took the spring out and proceeded to bend my own hook into it and fix it to the throttle body using a zip tie so it didn't slide back off the stop screw.

With that done I bolted the actuator wheel back on noticing i couldn't tighten it too much other wise the wheel would start to become jammed and rough, so i tightened it just enough for smooth operation and for it not to come off.

Well in my next session the bolt came off causing the butterfly actuator to come almost completely adrift. I lost the bolt so i had to find a spare that fit and luckily i did. I got a full session in next time and cracked a 1:11.2 consistently achieving between 11.4 and 11.8, one thing i started to notice is the tyres now hate being hot, for 2-3 laps the car will be on rails but after that it just becomes a fight to keep it straight, i took a chance for this track day and kept the dunlop tyres thinking that i could achieve 1:10's but it seems as though maybe they have been heat cycled one too many times.

My day was over after the next session when the bolt came off the actuator once again, however this time the thread was stripped, so i was able to fit a bolt on it safe enough just to get it home.

It was an annoying day for me but i now know that the diff and sway bar mods made a positive effect on the car and with the right rubber it can be extremely quick.

Unfortunately my gopro was playing games with me throughout the day, so i only recorded one full session, i still have a video of a few laps though they're not very good ones, however you may be able to tell in the video what i mean about the car being good for 2 laps or so then getting hard to handle...

I'll be shopping around for some tyres for my next mod and then I will be looking to get some time at the Sydney Motorsport Park GP circuit

Supercharger prep time for my s2000, starting with a clutch that will handle the power.

Install will be next weekend, I'm going to take the pain and do it on the floor at home, should be fun

Got a very nice delivery from a mate the other day

Finally got myself some real tyres!
Ill be fitting them when i get the chance at work.

The mission for this labour day long weekend was to install my new clutch after a few weeks of people trying to talk me out of attempting it on the floor at home as apparently its a massive mission, how hard could it be....

I started late friday night and spent about 2 hours on it, proceeded the next morning at around 9 and drove the car out of the garage at around 3pm. In all honesty it was a piece of piss!
Heres a quick and rough overview of how it went.

So up she went once again

Removed the headers. Moved the alternator aside to then slip an extra long extension and 14mm down to the starter motor to remove the 2 bolts. This was the hardest thing about this whole process.

Removed slave cylinder, Removed tail shaft, dropped gearbox mount, dropped subframe around 40-50mm to allow me to access the top bell housing bolts...

Unplugged and removed wiring harness from the top of the box, began to remove bell housing bolts, the 2 top bolts required extensions longer than the gearbox with a uni joint to get access and remove them. With all of them removed the box separated, i got a jack under it and rather then removing the box from the car completely i just rolled it back with the jack and kept the box between the tunnel so it couldn't roll off the jack.

just gave myself enough room to replace the clutch

I then blasted the gearbox and engine with brake cleaner to get rid of all the dust

out with the old and in with the new, pulled a Honda stamped clutch out, i believe it has never been replaced since factory.

All done gearbox goes back up

So about a full day job done with no help, I ran into no problems which is a bonus.
I drove out for the test and to my surprise its still a comfortable drive, theres a slight shudder on take off but no where near as much as the 3 puk exedy i had in my euro, the pedal is SO light much lighter then the stock clutch and it grips very nicely, the revs pick up much nicer now with the light flywheel, the only downside is that i still obtain clutch buzz as i was told this clutch would do it to, I'm used to it anyway so it doesn't really bother me. Overall I'm very happy with the result, now that the clutch can handle it, it's time to get boosting I will be down to wakefield one more time NA though as i need to reach my goal of 1:09 first
