not so good results from the tune post cams, made the same power as factory.
Not sure whats going on beyond possibly needing adjustment with the cam gears - even so figured i'd at least have some gains drop in
they were dialled to the cam card, but yes may need to play with the gears.
Theres optimum and worse than stock though, unless they're really really sensitive to 1-2 degrees of adjustment
Took it to the track and this was born out by the fact that low end punch between 5500-6500rpm was lacking.
Still managed to set a slightly quicker PB though!
In the meantime, I took the car to a different dyno and had him look over the tune, as I had noticed the low end was pretty bad and fuel economy was shithouse.
At idle it was off the chart (richer than 10:1) and same down low, up top wasnt too bad..
We went through the entire map, re-jigged vtec, fuelling and timing.
Was stinking hot with ~40 deg ambient temps and only a makeshift dyno fan but this is the comparo between the two tunes
Made pretty much the same up top but the low end is obviously much better.
Tried leaning it out up top closer to 13:1 but made no more power so dropped it back a bit for some safety on track/hot days.
From here, need to change valve cover and play with the timing, the cam manufacturer thinks that we need to tweak the cams to +1, +0.5 instead of +2/+3 and should pick up more power.
Beyond that, its possibly a restriction elsewhere in the headers or the intake manifold?
