Hey guys, only just signed up to the forum last week, and thought I'd post my car up to you guys and get some opinions!

2000 Dc2 type R
00-350

Mods:
Buddyclub n+ coilovers
Black injen intake
Full exhaust - 4-1 extractors (not sure of brand) with 2.5" piping with an xforce tip

Future mods (need your opinions!!)
Was thinking for christmas to spoil my car with a hondata and tune, but was curious on gaining your personal experiences and reccomendations of what other mods i should do and where i should take the car to be tuned. Ive heard various mixed reviews about BYP and Toys garage and not so sure on what to do.

Was thinking of purchasing the following before the tune
Skunk2 manifold
Skunk2 throttle body 70mm
Possible fuel pump and injectors.

Note: if anyone has done the manifold swap, im curious to hear your review!

Clean dc2r dude, best colour!
If you go the skunk 2 manifold get it bored out to suit the 70mm throttle body your planning on getting, toys garage can't comment about them really never been there, byp do not go anywhere near them the best tuner id recommend in nsw Adrian Norton from sas in silverwater
Fuel injectors I wouldn't worry about unless your thinking of going forced induction in the future then if not get your stock injectors cleaned out with new o-rings

Thanks man! I also agree with you on that, but i must admit i do have a soft spot for a yellow dc2r, always manage to make me froth i was thinking of purchasing the manifold and itb, but i really dont know if theres any point in it. I want to make 130-140atwkw without opening the motor but that somehow may deem to be impossible lol. I've heard various positive and negative reviews about both BYP and Toys garage, this is what makes it extremely hard on where to choose to get my car tuned at. Ive also heard of SAS at silverwater, does he specialise in hondatas? And have you had any personal experience there? Thanks

Thought id share a few more shots with you of the car.. (I am not a professional photographer sorry, and my car needs some cleaning also!)

The car came with a full aero kit
Recently put on RDA slotted and dimpled front rota's
S2000 antenna
Window visors

Will keep you guys updated, as long as i get some feedback!!

Would not touch the intake manifold or throttle body! Stock Itr is fine. And you will see no increase.
As for tuning go Adrian.

Next mod. Look at some wheels

Awesome! Very Clean DC2 brother, glad to see another CW I've heard bad things from BYP, so try stay away from them. Been hearing good things about Adrian too, end of the year i will be getting hondata/tune and looking to go to him. Other then that good mods and looks like you got gen side skirts and rear pods!

I've heard the exact same thing about the manifold and itb, completely useless! But yeah, i have also heard numerous things about BYP, sometimes i even believe they over exaggerate dyno numbers. Im interested to seeing what mods yours has karl, let me know! As for SAS, I'll definatley be heading there at the end of the year

Thanks che! Yeah, i was fortunate enough to have an dc2 with the rear pods and skirts! To be honest, before i even bought the car i had no idea dc2r's had an aero kit! well it looks like ill be joining you at Adrians to get a hondata and tune, would anyone here know his price range/packages?

Nice looking car mate!

Definitely don't waste money on Inlet manifold / Throttle body - as others have said it isn't really the restriction on a stock engine. You'd get more bang-for-buck out of a lightened flywheel if you don't already have one.

Hondata + Tune - You should be able to get an S300 preinstalled in a complete ECU for less than $1000 - I think I paid about $850 for mine brand new around 2 years ago. Adrian charged around $650 for the tuning but that was when he was at his own shop - now he works for SAS the pricing may be different.

PS: Be careful of those wheel nuts you have on your car - make sure they are the round-seat type nuts and not the tuner-style tapered nuts as they are not safe to use on OEM Honda wheels.

Yeah i dont think im going to bother with it.. I'll be on the lookout for a set of new shoes for the car soon enough!
Well i'm pretty sure i saw on jdmyard a hondata s300 v2 installed is around $600-700, and then I'll just work out the prices with adrian at SAS, should't be too bad. Will probably do the tune by early next year, or christmas time, depending on how much i get spoiled for christmas! Haha

I've also heard the same with aftermarket wheelnuts for the stock wheels, but I've actually had these wheel nuts for around 5-6 months now, and have really had no issues, the tyres have been on and off a few times due to new tyres, brake change, and even coilovers.. No issues so far. But i am looking into purchasing new wheelnuts, as these have actually faded over time and been scratched like hell! Thanks for the heads up though man, really appreciate it!

Can you take a photo of the nut off the car showing the shape of the nut where it contacts the wheel?

Honda wheels have a ball seat rather than a conical taper seat. See pic below

Sounds good! You won't regret a good tune. Driveability and part throttle response will be improved and often fuel economy will benefit due to Adrians fantastic part throttle cruise tuning.

These are the wheel nuts, not the same brand but thats pretty much how they look like. Knowing my luck these are the bad ones you've been talking about. If so what do i do?

Yeah i actually cant wait for the tune! Pretty excited, also looking forward to taking it to WSID and Wakefield for a little fun!
