Hey Alex! Cant believe its taken me this long to have a look at your thread. I had the pleasure of seeing her in person so no harm done :P

Can we arrange a shoot before you start any modifications? I would love to capture whats probably the best example in Sydney...

Hey john ! hhahaha thats okay man, its a shame it wasnt looking its best that night, it has some stains for bird shit sap etc all over the bonnet roof etc.

But another 8 -12 hours of my time to go and the car should look like it has a near new paint job.

But the photo shoot, that would be great !! it would be nice to see what the car would look like after someone who knows what there doing taking the pics !

As for the modifications, there gonna stay real minimal just some quality mods, and actually mainly replacing some parts that show major signs of ages i have already made a check list of what needs to be changed just have to finishing funding something els then ill be on it

Update for my thread, i have been busy cutting + buffing my car to remove tree sap stains bid shit stains and mainly sun swirls as i cannot bare seeing it all over the car..

The car is not done yet, i have spent the past 7 hours on the bonnet, front bar and guards it has payed off but when i have completed the car i then have to go back and clean all the left over compound :\

Just if any one is Q how i did it, i used a Rotary Buffer with 3 different type of pads and 3 different types of compound

Rotary Buffer = Mint ProTools ( You should have experience with this type of buffer becasue it is very easy to burn through the paint, i have had over 50 hours on the Rotary buffer from my previous job. )

Pad 1 = Harsh Cutting pad
      Pad 2 = Buffing pad
      Pad 3 = Finishing Pad

      Compound = Menzerna 500G , 2500G , 4000G

Here are a couple of before and after shots, first 2 pictures are my friends Black Astra to you can clearly see.

      Before

      After

As you can tell on my paint there is a bird shit stain, from not washing it and or whiping off after a long period of time

      Now gone.

Now just some reflection shots of the bonnet

Now a shot with the sun on the bonnet to show no swirls.

Will post up more photos of the rest of the car with better before and after shots

okay so, finally finished buffing my car over the past three day in total i think i spent over 16 hours, but was well worth the out come, just i quick over view of why i wanted to do this and why i spent the time that i did..

When i purchased the car i was not happy with the condition of the paint the car was washed poorly and kept under a tree for long periods of time, and the most common problem , sun swirls.. it had them all over the car.. ways to avoid these types of problems is NOT washing your car with a sponge and drying it with a shammi.. you should use lams whool + waffle weave drying cloth.

In my oppinion big shelf name brands such as mothers & meguiars that say there products can remove swirls + scratches by hand is silly because it cant, un even pressure on the cloth or applicator pad will actually create more! although there ultimate series is quite good for other areas that require attention.

                driver side door done !

                cut back ready for bufff

                Done

Couldnt be bottherd taking more photo's onmy phone.. :\ one last one when the front end was finished

                Wish i had a better camera :]

My car just clocked 99,000 so that means its major service time

I went and checked on it today and was very happy with the work done, i did get some great new's, i was told that almost no nuts have ever been taken off, they also said that the car has had a very easy life ! which is great and my rear break pads are still from factory in 2001.

Why didn't you use a genuine oil filter?

haha thats cool dude Well the thing was it wasnt the cheapest service (I work 2 days a week atm lol ) so i tryed to save little bits here and there on the external belts and fuel filter some very small amount of parts i sourced my self, but the ryco fuel filter is not to bad because at the end of the day its not gonna be such a big difference from stock and i can always replace it in the future when i have more money to play with but i think what i have done is quite good and stuck to OEM in the major parts

*Forgot to mansion i got it for free lol
