    2005 DC5 Luxury

    Hey all,

New here, I bought a 2005 Black Manual DC5 Luxury last week as my new daily. It has 70k km's on it, in ok condition, front bar has been resprayed before and done poorly (has too much blue in it and under certain light can see 2 different colours), a few scratches and dings here and there but its expected.

Interior has a few rattles, under the dash driver side - I'll try fix that when I can be bothered but generally in ok condition. I paid $13,500 for it and Shannons insured it for $26,620

So far it has been nice to drive, one thing I noticed when heel-toeing/rev matching these cars rev very high very easily, have to literally just blip it a tiny bit.

I own a FD Rx7 as well, never owned a Honda before nor a FWD so it's a new experience.

Looking to get a set of wheels and coilovers for the car ASAP. Just need to clear my credit card and get some spare cash first.

Was looking at a set of Enkei NT03+M's 18x8.5 +38 FR and RR with Tein Basic or Tein Super Street coilovers.

Will post pics after I wash the car and get some decent shots!

    First of all welcome Kin,

The rattles you talk about are common in tegs, The passenger dash and the speaker covers can rattle. Happens in mine and others as well. Same as you have to be bothered to actually fix it!

What made you get a Honda and Fwd? Be a different ball game from the FD
Just going for a drive ~146.4kw~

I didn't really go out looking for a Honda or a FWD. I was on the lookout for a daily car that I could drive anywhere without fearing cops (defects)/thieves. I wanted a manual and I didnt want a big family car nor a ugly little hatch. I had considered a new Mazda 3 or something but at the end I didn't like the car.

I've always liked the shape of DC5's. I had a look at a few and decided that is what I wanted. I purposely looked for a Luxury model rather than a Type R or Type S as I didn't want to modify the car. I over modified my Rx7 and it's become undrivable - can't drive on long weekends, can't drive when I can't see where I park it, can't drive if there are driveways I can't get up on, can't drive to hotspots. I got sick of that.

So plans are to just get some wheels and drop the car and I'll probably leave it close to that (modify/change as things break/need replacing) but not going to dump much money on this car.

I've done alot of looking already!

Wanting a set that's not too aggressive cos I'm daily driving, I wanted to minimise neg camber.

18x8.5 +38 looked ok on fronts, a little weak at the back but I can live with it.

The NT03's come only in 8.5 +38 or 9.5+27 (18"), 9.5 +27 is way too hectic for my need so I'll have to make do with 8.5 +38 (maybe put in a 10mm spacer at the back).

Oh BTW, what oil do people recommend for Integra's?

5w30? Mobil 1? Royal Purple or Motul? Full Synthetic?

I could just go read the manual I guess... lol

slightly boring update: car got backed into. so its going through insurance for front bar, driver side front guard and headlights. also getting the passenger rear quarter and rear bar resprayed... had scratches and dings on it when i bought the car. Will be done at GNS bodyworks at yennora.

was looking at aftermarket options for the front bar but was going to take too long and cost too much.. 7-8 weeks just to make a bar and bodyform doesnt make any dc5 parts so im just going to leave it OEM.

changed my front brakes to audm dc5r brakes - just to have more options in future for brakepads (oem brake pads costed quite a bit for what they are). painted the brakes red.... for a little rice lol.

still planning on getting coilovers and wheels but thats been put on hold as im going to korea for 17 days in october and funds have been drained

but still looking to get a set of new tein SS's or just the basic? basis? - aim is for comfort and dropping really.. so no need for hardcore coilovers.

wheels, been looking for a decent set of 2nd handers. i love the ce28n's so still on the look out for a set of 17x8 to 17x9 wheels +22 to +28 offsets. (preferably in silver and in good cond).

                  thats all folks~
