    DC2 VTI R [because racecar]

    Hey guys, Jayco here.

My first car ever was an awesome little green EK CXI. Loved that car to death. And so started my love affair with Honda.

Few years later I had to sell it... biggest mistake of my life...

Bought a little Honda Ag 1987:

I then got myself a GC8 WRX... Lot of fun, great car.

Until, one day as I sat at a red light, a BMW cut off a forester and I ended up as collateral...

Which brings me to now... Insurance paid me, but not enough to buy another WRX... so what to get? I am still a huge Honda fan, and I wanted something super fun and sporty... I had also always wanted a DOHC VTEC engine...

    [Hello mum :P ]

My first VTEC A black, stock as a rock, very mint (except faded bonnet) VTI R

Can't wait to get to know some more Honda fans, and will be showing up to meets

Yeah, thanks. Apart from one carpark scrape on the rear wheel arch and faded bonnet, the thing is in amazing condition. Not even a spec of rust in the boot edges or the sunroof!

Now to buy a Type R front lip and wing... :P

                  So now an update!

Need to do a suspension overhaul, and after lots of research, I am going to drop in a set of Skunk2 shocks and a set of Skunk2 springs, get them tuned, and will drop the car 2 inches and fix the handling.

I know everyone will say I should get coilovers, but with the price difference and the fact I will never change the height, I decided shocks and springs are the way to go.

Anyone seen these shocks/springs around? Skunk2 are a good brand aren't they?

I also need to replace the upper control arm bushes while I am at it. My question to you is:
Can I replace these without a press? If so, how do I?

And lastly, will be putting in some Hardrace engine mounts at the same time. I know how to replace engine mounts in other cars, any special pointers for DC2s? or is it just like normal?

Still need advice on installing bushes, but also need opinions on shock top hats.

Firstly, where can you buy the rubber washers that go between the top hat and the spring? I think mine are worn out and would like to put new ones in when I do my shocks and springs.

                      Also, saw these on eBay:

Safe? Worth getting? any point? or are the OEM top hats fine?

                        Lol, full of questions today...

Does the VTIR use Type R bushes or non-type R bushes?

I am buying a Hardrace full set of bushes to replace them all... And I think I need to by the Type R set, but I want to be super sure :P

But the VTIR uses the Type R sway bar end links?

So does it use some type R bushes and some DC4 bushes?
