Hi Guys,
This is my copy-paster from another forum.
Ever since high school, I've always wanted a Type R.
Ever since I left school, I became a Toyota fanatic and left my Type R childhood dreams behind
11 years on, I've decided to go for it and see what comes of it.
I had a EK1 - Black, EM1 - Black and all became short lived since I get the cars running right and set up nicely, family members and friends wave cash in my face and sweep it from under my feet. instead of continuing the normal path I was traveling, it was time to put my foot to the ground and not let this one get away (Of course with the wifes permission to up my budget to get something a "little" more expensive).
Prior to this, I owned Cartoons black DC2 VTiR. I did a JDM conversion to it and resprayed it phoenix yellow. I sold it to get a Chaser. I don't regret it but I did miss it when it was gone.
When I was looking for a Teggy, I tossed up a VTiR for 5k less or one of these bad boys... every one was like "its only 20kw or so difference" but to me, it was the factory Recaro's, the 5 stud, the extra 20kw or so, the slightly lower suspension, the fact they handle awesome out of the factory, even to the wing, the sticker and being a real Type R.
I went to look at a few before getting my hands on this one... one broke down on me during a test drive, the others had big shiney wheels on it and really ratty suspension because of that. Some were on Revs, some just didnt sound right and this was through all the price ranges. This gave me heaps of doubts and I watched my dream crumble.
After about 2 months of searching around, I found this one. Was in a good price range, the seller was genuine, things were worn but they were things I intended on replacing. Car was awesome and I bought it!
its a 2000 model, has an Injen intake but other wise stock.
Plans? don't really know just yet
Tried it out at Wakefield
Cheers,
Duy
