I agree with Monty.
I think we are still clinging on to the almost mystical magic of the Type R when the rest of the hot hatch brigade has evolved to catch up and even surpass the Type R (not to mention being far better daily drivers).

IMO, cars like the Megane would hand the DC2R its butt on a plate, whilst being more practical and liveable on the daily grind.
