I work do for a bank (BOQ).

I know someone who works at CBA... but as you said, it would be illegal for them to hand out that information. This would also make it near impossible for people to get there money back... Legally.

I could pull a few strings to get the correct information, but I don't think mods would like this forum to be brought into disrepute

Just a curious question, can't people make a claim to the bank?

If a bunch of people suddenly start complaining about the particular account, wouldn't commonwealth temporarily close the account and look into it and chances of the person getting a bad record etc. (just a thought)

People usually have a surname and even a middle name.

Like Dave said, bank will not do anything even how hard you try. Unless police is involved or bank error.
