Asian names

hey guys,

been getting a few names in the JSCC registry and i am unsure about how to address them

they are three and four word names, i am pretty sure they might be Chinese?

which part of the name is the name you would call them by in a letter?

like: Dear ______,

and if there is an obvious Anglo name in there, like Chris, do you assume that this is their preferred name?

Name: Scott Wang Kwok Time

You would address him as Scott (coz he really wants to unasianised)
Wang Kowk Time is his real asian name which he probably wont ever tell anyone unless you found out about it coz you happen to see his licence
if no ango name - its Wang Kowk

what u said is right but keep in mind that in asia, their last name is placed first. so in your example it would be "Time Wang Kowk" first name being Wang Kowk.

the hard part is figuring out which is their last name depending on whether they have been westernised.

but either way, Mr Time will never go wrong even if it isnt their last name.

Just to follow up. you might wonder why Mr Time works if if it's not their last name. Chinese first names have two parts. so say their first name is Kwok Time. All boys in the family of that generation will have the same first part (kwok) but have a different second part (time), so to distinguish them apart they are often called by the second part.
