    washing car/living in melbourne

    hey guys,

moving over to melbourne, i heard you guys have tight water restrictions of there compared to WA. How do you guys wash/maintain your cars?

also, any tips for a Perth dude moving over to melbourne? stuff to look out for, whats life like in melb wiht a dc5r, etc.

look forward to meeting some of you at an upcoming meet. would prefer to stay in Perth but my work situation is forcing me to make the big move

    thanks

There are generally car washes around that don't mind if you bring your own bucket, mitt etc. as long as you don't do it in peak times. That is what I used to do when I lived on the east side of Melbourne.

Whoa $15...You might as well pay those car wash joints and get someone else to do it for you.
I'd say, depending on where you go, (do you know where you're gonna live?), for a decent wash without bucket $10 with bucket and your own supplies $5.

i usually pay $2 to 3. coz i use the tap at the air pump to fill my bucket

only the petrol station car washes have the taps though...

Yeh I rarely washed my car over the last few months because of such consistant rain but with summer around the corner I find myself constantly thinking about it.

You can get your car washed by a crew from $15 to $50 depending on how much detail you want but I've seen chamois wash and dry for $15.

Specific self-car washes don't charge you to bring your own equipment and you can sit in the parking bay and wash your car there if you just want access to soap/wax/water. Shoudln't cost you more than a few gold coins.
