[Melb] What hotels/apartments do you recommend?

Coming for the Melbourne Cup. Gonna be there from Monday 6th til Thursday or maybe a little later. Won't have my car though

Can anyone recommend a good hotel/apartment or advise of ones to avoid?

i was in Melb last year and stayed with 3 other friends in those short stay appartments on City Rd.

It worked out to be like $50 a day for the shared accommodation, and the quality was pretty good. Security was very impressive too.

Crown is 5 star and Crown Promenade is 4 star....the price is about 20% different....but the rooms ain't that much different though....Whats ur budget sangers? We can try to match ur budget and give you some more ideas...

haha I live in Melbourne and don't know most of these places (except Crown )

there's 5 of us and we were hoping to get 2 rooms or a 2 bedroom apartment. got about $200-250 each to spend, so that's $1000-1250 total. wanna stay til at least thurs.
