found a graphics card: GeForce4 MX 440-SE

(PS - found the graphics card in a PC left out for kerbside cleanup)

Yes it is.

Onboard always FTL !!

Basically you take the stress of the gfx useage away from your standard RAM.

But depending on your mobo , you can share some of the SD Slot RAM along with the GFX

But even so, GF4 MX 440 omg.

I used of these as a door jam in my garage lol.

yep, plug it in first...
your computer will default the video card driver, and you'll be using your computer at 640x480 for a while..download the driver and you're good to go.

screen stays blank when plugged in,

but i can see the card in the "device manager" as a "display adaptor" (using the original display connection)

oh yeah, sorry about that...forgot you had to go into that bootup control panel or whatever it was..(holding del key when starting up) and enable AGP and disable your onboard videocard...

guess you figured it out in the end.

i am not a gamer or use PC for watching DVD's, so anything better would be over kill, but i thought the GeForce card actually made my pictrue seem better!

(but it could be placebo effect - would my picture actually look and behave better just by changing the card???)
