Found this pretty cool mod. Not sure what it's gonna be used for much. Maybe if it were wireless you could use it to watch stuff away from your PC, but it's pretty well done anyway...

The DIY Guide presents an opportunity for others to come up with some pretty interesting mods. Where else could a Nokia LCD come in handy... perhaps in automotive applications?

u know, maybe when you're typing on your keyboard, you use both of your hands and your mouse is actually free. then the LCD could possibly be useful in displaying some system data, maybe about your computer or otherwise.

anyway, i agree that the mod is not very practical, but the reason i posted it was because it was very very well done and the DIY guide shows your how you can do it and hence how you might be able to install LCD screens elsewhere... like in your car.

Perhaps you would like to show something from you family album as a slideshow? My mother took this image from my family when we went out to swim this summer.

I don't use Messenger or ICQ that much but I can be always found in IRC. For this I use a text console from Linux to chat with my friends and readers. Just took a screenshot from the console window and posted it to the screen but one could easily write a code that would show the messages on the screen real time. This is the same for every other messaging system like ICQ or AIM etc.

It is easy to just photoshop what ever you want to show on the screen. Babes, cool cars, statistics etc. In the end it comes down to limits of your imagination.

it does look cool! but definitely a bit impractical... it should have a flip open lcd
