I just got a Cannon 450d recently for a birthday gift. Im a real novice, can someone give me some helpful tips on how to use it?

Ive read the manual but it really didn't help.

Can you read chinese?? I know there is a book for 450D in HK which tell you all the basic about how to use it.....or you may try to google it......should find sth helpful....
