Corrupted HDD

Anyone know how or why HDD parition's get corrupted???

lack of maintence *scan disk*
damage to hdd physically whilst in operation causing errors to occure on the drive
power flacuations causing mini power surges which also causes errors to be written on the drive

Well HDDs are made and designed to run horizontally, by running a HDD vertically can drastically reduce its life span. Also most PC lack sufficent Cooling for the Harddrive and place them close together. that also reduces there lifespan.

Back up all your staff and run a low level format on the thing, then it should give you same more life on the drive as it Zeros everything.

Download yourself O&O Defrag and they also have a very good scandisk, this will tell you exacly whats gone wrong

HDD corruption can occur as everyone has said up top *apart from porn collection * Personally if It was corrupt i would back up as much as i could and get a new one. Can't really trust it after that.

Unless its just used as a scratch drive.
