Opinion - Living in North Sydney

    Hi guys..

I have been offered to work up in Sydney and wondering what would the living expenses be like (rent).

Obviously I can have a look at those real estate website but if you guys have any opinions about this suburb in particular and if any of yous knows howmuch to rent for a studio or 1 bedroom with garage to keep the car of course

Any info would be much appreciated!

I'd maybe ask them to include it in your salary package.

      I tried that :P

Best they can do is just to support me for a month up in Sydney while I'm looking for a place to stay...

North Sydney is a nice place

It's a mini Sydney CBD. Plenty of high rise buildings, location is decent.

Maybe ask someone who works there.. =)

I work near there... it's a great location. You'll be looking at anywhere in between 350-500 for a one bedroom apartment. A nice one tho. But yeah it'll be hard to find one below 350. And as far as I am aware, it hard to get an apartment with a garage for the car, and alot of the parking you need to pay for. Surey there has to be places to park.

Plus there are quite a few places to go out there, and lots and lotssss of hot girl that run around thursday nights!
That's a bonus. Nice place all in all. Let me know when or IF you come down, i'll meet up with ya after work.

            Thanks for that!

Yeah I had a look on realestate.com.au and there are heaps starting from $300+ Problem is most of them does not have/include carpark. Or the one that do, is just a carspace... Having an R makes me picky abt the place to keep the car hahahahahahaha...

Best to look around Waverton or Wollstonecraft area. Apparently these 2 suburbs are Sydney's best kept secrets in the real estate world. It's like a 3 min drive away from the North Sydney CBD, 8 min drive to the city but yet, quiet and peaceful like a suburb 40 KM's out of the city. Oh and also, the sweet locations with awesome views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House

Also, there's a unit opposite mine for rent/sale I believe. 1 bedroom apartment with secured garage. PM me if you want some details.

Btw, the garage is the only place where I can park without having to worry about it when I go to sleep

mmm I park on the street and I've had no problems at all...but I guess this is only during the day (both DC2R and DC5R mind you)

Only thing with Nth Sydney is supermarket...it only has Aldi which sucks lol.

I go to Crows Nest for all my groceries, lunch, dinner, post office, bank, etc, etc

Also, there's a 24 hour cafe called Maisys in Mosman - about 10 mins drive away

                    Hi guys,

After a long discussion with the boss man, I decided not to take up the offer as financially it is not a strategic move for me...

Thank you for all your help!!! Maybe next time hey

I would've suggested somewhere away from Nth Sydney if you wanted affordable with garage.

To be precise, I live on the border between Wollstonecraft and Waverton Usually when I fill up forms I fill it up as Waverton but Energy Australia and AGL have my unit listed in Wollstonecraft for some reason.

Also, as fueltank mentioned above - somewhere away from North Sydney would be best. For about $350-$400 per week you should be able to get a 1 bedroom apartment with secured garage. But I guess its too late now?
