Pretty well convined to get a K100D ($688+sigma lens) over a canon 400D(1200+lens kit). Reason for this is:-

*Image quality is similar with canon having the edge
*Price affordable second hand lens
*Price

I did write an expanded post last night but somthing was up with the forum basically i wanted to run this by the camera buff's here to make sure i wasn't missing anything. Please comment away and thanks for your time

Good price.
Keep in mind you're buying in to the K-mount lens system.
Meaning you're available lenses are those made for the K-mount which might be cheaper but harder to find 2nd hand?

I actually have a few K-mount MF lenses at home.

Don't know much about Pentax DSLR. But good buy IMO, pic quality from different brands only make so little different. One can't really tell unless you put 2 pic from 2 cameras side by side.

Post up some sample pics Also some pic of your camera as i don't know what Pentax DSLR looks like.

I have a Pentax IST *DL and I can tell ya it aint hard to find Pentax K-mount lenses..

Had bit of a play round with it before my g/f aquired it (i brought it for her anyways). Very happy with it. Although some times it over exposes and other times get's the wrong white balance. There is loads of lens on ebay ATM. Attached pic's

Yup but its closer to Sandy hollow (population: 4 lol). My car ALWAYS needs a wash and ATM it needs a new front bar.
